To control how keyboards behave on the terminal, you can configure automatic closing or add navigation options depending on the keyboard type.

Follow the guidance below to manage this setup in EPOS Manager:

Condiment keyboards

  • Condiment keyboards will automatically close once the required selections are made. For example, if a customer must choose two options, the keyboard will close and return to the original screen after both are selected.

  • For details on setting up a condiments keyboard, please refer to the relevant guide.

Standard keyboards

  • Standard keyboards do not close automatically.

  • To enable this, you must add a navigation button to the keyboard that allows users to return to the previous page manually.

  • For instructions on creating a main keyboard and adding a navigation button, please refer to the setup guide.

PLU prompt group

  • You can also configure a PLU prompt group.

  • This allows the terminal to display a prompt instead of switching to a new keyboard.

  • For example, selecting a beer could trigger a prompt showing Pint and Half Pint options. Once selected, the modifier is added to the journal with the correct price.

  • For more information on setting up a PLU prompt group, please refer to the relevant documentation.
