Connecting a cash drawer to your TC Touch A8 device requires configuring the terminal settings through the programming menu. The process varies slightly depending on your A8 model.
To connect a cash drawer to a standard A8 model, please follow the steps below:
Log onto the terminal and click Program Mode.
Select Programming/Program Options.
Click External Devices and select Cash Drawer 1.
Select RS232 from the drop-down menu next to Comms Mode.
Set the Com Port to COM 4.
Click Test to verify the connection.
Click Save to confirm your settings
To connect a cash drawer to a standard A8 MK2 model, please follow the steps below:
Log onto the terminal and click Program Mode.
Select Programming/Program Options.
Click External Devices and select Cash Drawer 1.
Select RS232 from the drop-down menu next to Comms Mode.
Set the Com Port to COM 5.
Alternatively, you can connect the cash drawer directly to the receipt printer.
Click Test to verify the connection.
Click Save to confirm your settings.
