Setup allergens

Configure allergen warnings on terminal displays

You can assign allergens to individual PLUs in EPOS Manager, allowing a warning triangle to appear on PLU buttons when a specific allergen is flagged. This helps staff identify allergen-sensitive items quickly.

Follow the steps below to set this up:


Set the allergen up for the PLU

  1. Log in to EPOS Manager.

  2. Select POS Control and choose PLU.

  3. Choose your location and select the PLU you want to update.

  4. Click the Dietary Req tab or Allergens tab depending on your setup.

  5. Tick the relevant allergens.

  6. Click Save.


Create a function

To create the allergen function:

  1. Log in to EPOS Manager.

  2. Select POS Control and choose Functions.

  3. Click New.

  4. Enter the description as Customer Allergens.

  5. Next to Function Type, click ... and select function 266 Customer Allergens.

  6. Tick the box Show Warnings.

  7. Click Save.


Add your function to the keyboard

To add the function to the keyboard:

  1. Log in to EPOS Manager.

  2. Select POS Control and choose Keyboard.

  3. Choose Functionbar-Main Bar.

  4. Select your location.

  5. Add the Customer Allergens function to the keyboard.

  6. Click Save.


Set this correctly in Global Flags

To enable allergen icons globally:

  1. Log in to EPOS Manager.

  2. Select POS Control and choose Global Flags.

  3. Select your location.

  4. Click Flags 1.

  5. Scroll to View Options 2 and tick Always Show Allergen Icons On Keys.

  6. Click Save.
