Manage and Display PLU Notes

Configure automatic or manual display of PLU information notes.

In EPOS Manager, you can add a note to a PLU that appears on the POS screen when the PLU is selected. There are two ways to configure this: either have the note automatically pop up, or create a function that displays the note when triggered.

This setup allows staff to view important PLU notes either automatically or on demand, improving clarity and service accuracy.

Follow the steps below to set up each method:


Add a note

To add a note that automatically pops up, follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to EPOS Manager.

  2. Select POS Control.

  3. Click PLU.

  4. Choose your location and select the relevant PLU.

  5. Navigate to Notes and type in the message you want to display.

  6. Go to the Flags 1 tab and tick Auto Show PLU Notes.

  7. Click Save.

  8. Send all updates to the terminal using POS Updates.


Add a PLU note to be displayed via the function

To add a PLU note that displays via a function, follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to EPOS Manager.

  2. Select POS Control.

  3. Click PLU.

  4. Choose your location and select the relevant PLU.

  5. Navigate to Notes and type in the message you want to display.

  6. Click Save.


Create the function

To create the function, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to POS Control.

  2. Click Functions.

  3. Select New.

  4. Enter a description for the function.

  5. For Function Type, select 83 PLU Info.

  6. Click Save.


Add the function to the till

To add the function to the terminalโ€™s function bar, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to POS Control.

  2. Click Keyboards.

  3. Select your location.

  4. Choose FunctionBar โ€“ Main Bar.

  5. From the dropdown menu, select Functions.

  6. Find your new function and drag it onto the keyboard layout.

  7. Click Save.

  8. Send all changes to the terminal using POS Updates.
