Written by Dragan Ranisav

Whether you’re just getting started with Access EPoS or looking to get more from your system, these tips will help you and your team work more efficiently, stay on top of daily tasks, and get support whenever you need it.

Use the Access Digital Assistant for instant answers

For quick answers without leaving EPoS Manager, the Access Digital Assistant is your first port of call. Click the Access Digital Assistant icon, type your question or choose from a list of topics, and get an instant AI-powered response.

The assistant is available 24/7, so you can get answers out of hours without waiting for the support team. It can also surface knowledge base articles directly within EPoS Manager, saving you time.

📌 Note: Our dedicated support team is still on hand for complex or technical queries, the assistant can connect you to a human agent at any time.

Get help on the floor without leaving your position

During a busy shift, use the Get Help! button on your POSLink terminal. Tap it, confirm your contact details, and scan the QR code with your personal mobile, Fin AI opens on your phone with your company, site, and terminal details already loaded.

This means front-of-house staff can get support without tying up the till or stepping away from the service floor. Escalate to a human agent at any time, your details are passed across automatically.

📌 Note: The Get Help! button must be added to your keyboard layout by an administrator before staff can use it. See Get support on your mobile using the POSLink QR code for setup steps.

Set your End of Day report to run automatically

Avoid manually triggering your End of Day report each night by scheduling it to run automatically. In EPoS Manager, select POS Control, select Batch Reports, and configure the schedule for your location.

This ensures your daily reporting runs smoothly without manual intervention, even on your busiest nights.

🤓 Tip: The report name may vary depending on your configuration — check with your administrator if you’re unsure which report to schedule.

Always complete your cash declaration

At the end of each trading day, make sure to complete a cash declaration in EPoS Manager. Go to Daily Sales, select Cash Declaration, enter the correct business date, and input your cash and card takings.

Keeping this up to date ensures your financial records are accurate and aligned with your business date, and saves time when it comes to reconciliation.

Make sure staff are clocked in correctly

If your venue uses EPoS to track staff hours, ensure all team members are set up as employees and correctly linked to their clerk profiles before they use the clock-in feature.

Accurate time tracking depends on each staff member being properly configured in the system. If you spot discrepancies in your time reports, check that each clerk is associated with their correct employee profile.

Schedule your terminal to restart at end of day

Keep your terminals running smoothly by scheduling an automatic restart at the end of each trading day. In EPoS Manager, go to Programming, select Global Flags, and configure the End of Day reboot option.

This keeps your system up to date and helps prevent performance issues caused by terminals running for extended periods without a restart.
