Setting up compulsory reasons for stock adjustments helps maintain accurate inventory records and provides an audit trail for all stock changes. This two-step process involves enabling the prompt feature for specific adjustments and creating the reason codes that staff must select.

If you want staff to provide a mandatory reason when making stock adjustments, you'll need to complete both configurations.

To enable the prompt for adjustments, please follow the steps below:

  1. Log onto StockLink and navigate to POS Control

  2. Select POS Control again

  3. Click Adjustments

  4. Locate and select the specific adjustment you want to modify

  5. Click Flags 1

  6. Tick Prompt For Reason

  7. Click Save

πŸ“Œ Note: This ensures the system will require a reason before allowing the adjustment to proceed.

To create reason codes, please follow the steps below:

  1. Return to POS Control and select POS Control

  2. Click Reason Codes

  3. In the Reason Type dropdown menu, select Adjustment Reasons

  4. Click New to create a new reason code

  5. Enter a clear description that explains the reason for the adjustment

  6. Click Save

  7. Repeat steps 4-6 to add as many different reason codes as your business requires

πŸ€“ Tip: Once both steps are completed, staff will be prompted to select from your predefined reasons whenever they attempt to make the specified stock adjustment.

πŸ“Œ Note: This ensures consistent documentation and helps maintain proper inventory control procedures across all locations.

⚠️ Important: Remember to send all changes over to the terminals using Pos Updates.
