Access EPOS v1.741 release notes

September 2026

Written by Jon Lee

What's new?

  • Enhanced tips and service charge function - You can now configure a flexible, rule-based service charge directly within Access POSLink, without relying on the previous adjustment-based workaround:

    • Automatically calculate a fixed or percentage charge on the bill subtotal

    • Restrict the charge to specific items, a minimum number of covers, set times and dates, or particular seating areas

    • Give cash tips their own line on the receipt, so they can be refunded independently of the card payment

    • Add a custom name for the charge, such as "Service Charge", which displays on receipts

What we've fixed

We've resolved several issues within the Access EPOS application:

  • PLU centralisation and till availability - Fixed an issue where centralising Price Look-Up (PLU) data could incorrectly disable tills at individual sites. PLU configuration can now be managed centrally without affecting till availability.

  • POS command creation - Fixed an issue where creating a new POS command caused an unhandled error, resulting in a blank white screen.

  • Weekly Clock-on Report legend - Fixed an issue where the Weekly Clock-on Report was missing a legend, making it difficult to interpret the data shown.

  • User account audit logging - Fixed an issue where disabling a user account didn't create an audit log entry, leaving no record of who made the change or when.

  • Business Sheet Petty Cash description length - Fixed an issue where the description field on the Petty Cash tab of the Business Sheet was too short to enter a full description.

  • Manual sales exception at specific locations - Fixed an issue where entering manual sales at certain locations caused an unhandled error.

  • KV Ticket Format options - Fixed an issue where Kitchen Video (KV) Ticket Format options weren't appearing for some customers, preventing kitchen video ticket layouts from being configured.

  • KV Profiles Recall Bump Bar list - Fixed an issue where the Recall Bump Bar list within KV Profiles was unavailable, preventing bump bar recall behaviour from being configured.

  • Daily Operations Report transaction time - Fixed an issue where the Daily Operations Report showed the time of the last item sold instead of the transaction close time.

  • PLU List column headers - Fixed an issue where the PLU List was missing header descriptions for two of its columns, making them difficult to interpret.

  • Stock Usage Report formatting - Fixed an issue where the Stock Usage Report displayed data with incorrect formatting for some customers.

  • .NET Upgrade option on EPOS Overview - Fixed an issue where the .NET Upgrade option was missing from the EPOS Overview page, preventing administrators from starting the upgrade process.

  • Screen usability improvements - Fixed a number of minor usability issues across several screens, including inconsistent button and label spacing and alignment.
