If your KV Screen isn't displaying orders or has stopped working, this can disrupt your kitchen workflow and order management.
Follow the troubleshooting steps below to quickly identify and resolve common KV Screen problems:
Check the power and connections
Ensure your kitchen video display is powered on and all cables are securely connected. Check the power cable, HDMI or video cable, and network cable (if applicable). Verify the power outlet is working and look for indicator lights on the display.
Check the display input source
Use the input/source button on your display or remote control to ensure it's set to the correct input channel. The display may have switched to a different input source.
Adjust brightness and display settings
Check if the display brightness is turned down too low or if the screen has gone into power-saving mode. Use the display controls or remote to adjust brightness and ensure the screen isn't in standby mode.
Check your network connection
If your kitchen video requires a network connection, verify that the device is connected to your Wi-Fi or Ethernet network. Check if other devices on the same network are working properly.
Restart the display and the connected device
Turn off the kitchen video display and any connected device (media player, computer, or dedicated kitchen display system). Wait 30 seconds, then power on the display first, followed by the connected device.
Verify orders are being sent
Check your till system to confirm that orders are being processed and should be routing to the kitchen video display. Send a test order to see if it appears on the display.
Check display assignment settings
Verify that your kitchen video is correctly configured in your system settings to receive orders. Confirm which order types, categories, or kitchen stations are assigned to display on this screen.
Look for error messages
Check both the video display and your till system for any error messages or warnings. Note down any error codes or messages you see, as these will help identify the specific issue.
