To add a Kitchen Message button in EPOS Manager, you can use a PLU setup that prompts for a KP message and treats the entry as a condiment.

This method provides a cleaner and more accurate approach by using an open text box for message input, improving communication and workflow in the kitchen.

  1. Log in to EPOS Manager and navigate to POS Control.

  2. Select PLU, then choose the relevant Location (use Head Office if centralised).

  3. Create a New PLU and name it Kitchen Messages.

  4. Under Flags1, tick Prompt For KP Message.

  5. Under Flags3, tick Treat as Condiment. You may also tick Allow Price Override if needed.

  6. Click Save.

  7. Navigate to POS Control, then Keyboards, and open Main Keyboard.

  8. Choose the Location (Head Office if centralised).

  9. Click the three dots to find the keyboard where you want to add the Kitchen Message button (typically a Food Menu).

  10. Under Items, change the dropdown to PLUs and locate the new Kitchen Messages PLU.

  11. Drag and drop it into the desired space on the keyboard and assign a colour for easy identification.

  12. Click Save and then Send to Tills Now.

Once the update is received on the EPOS, pressing the button will open a keyboard input box, allowing staff to enter the required kitchen message directly.
