Slow response time on the till or tablet

Optimize terminal performance and speed

If your terminal or tablet is running slowly, this may be due to network instability, system performance issues, or insufficient disk space.


These steps can help improve speed and responsiveness in PosLink:

  1. Restart the terminal and your network connection to help stabilize performance.

  2. Check Windows updates and ensure the device is up to date.

  3. Verify that there is sufficient disk space available on the device.


To optimize performance further, you can use Program Mode on the terminal:

  1. Log in to the affected terminal or tablet.

  2. Click Program Mode.

  3. Select Cleanup Database.

⚠️ Important: You will not be able to use the till during this process. It may take between 10 and 60 minutes, so avoid running it during busy periods or on your master terminal during service.


To improve processing speed:

  1. Click Program Mode, then select Programming.

  2. Click Terminal Configuration and open Flags 2.

  3. Select Set Processor Priority High.

  4. Click Save.
