What's new?
Alphanumeric gift card entry - You can now toggle between numeric and alphanumeric input modes when processing gift card transactions. This means gift cards with codes that contain both letters and numbers can now be redeemed, sold, and checked directly from the POS terminal, including cards issued by selected third-party providers.
Change default seating area - A new function button option is available in Program Mode that allows staff to change the terminal's default seating area on the fly. You can assign the change as temporary (for the current transaction only) or permanent, making it easier to manage terminals that move between rooms or areas during events.
What we've fixed
We've resolved several issues within the Access POSLink application:
Discount removed at subtotal - Fixed an issue where food discounts applied at subtotal were incorrectly removed when a table was stored and then reopened for payment after a service charge had been added. Promotional pricing is now retained correctly through the full payment flow.
GuestPay transaction timeout crash - Fixed an issue where a timed-out GuestPay transaction caused the POS terminal to crash with a Windows error, rather than displaying a helpful message. Timeout scenarios are now handled gracefully, allowing staff to retry or take an alternative payment without any disruption.
GuestPay cancel crash - Fixed an issue where pressing the cancel button during a GuestPay Web payment caused the application to crash. Staff can now safely cancel transactions and the terminal returns to the previous screen as expected.
GuestPay Local transaction status mismatch - Fixed an issue where a GuestPay Local transaction could time out on the POS while still being approved on the card terminal, resulting in a mismatch between records. The application now automatically checks the actual transaction status when a timeout or failure occurs, ensuring payment records are accurate and reducing the need for manual end-of-day reconciliation.
