To understand how sessions work in EPOS Manager, it's important to know how trading periods are tracked and recorded. A session defines when a new day or trading period begins, and multiple sessions can occur within a single day.

  • When End of Day is run, EPOS Manager creates a new record in the sessionsales table.

  • This record includes the date, till number, and a session number, which starts at 1.

  • If the site runs a Z read during the day, a new record is created with a session number of 2.

  • Session IDs are linked to all reports in EPOS Manager, except journals, and are used to move data between trading days.

  • Sessions are not configured within EPOS Manager, so we are unable to advise on specific session times.

  • Sessions are managed directly on the terminal.

    • For example, if a site opens for breakfast, then closes for lunch, they would run End of Session, which records the time.

    • They would then reopen for dinner service and run End of Session/End of Day in the evening.

To view when sessions have been run, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Reports in EPOS Manager.

  2. Select Spooled Reports and choose your location.

  3. Select the EOS Report.

  4. This report will show the session end times.

πŸ“Œ Note: Session times may vary, as they are managed locally at each site.
