Use adjustments to apply a discount or surcharge to a sale on the till. There are many different configurations that you can set, depending on your requirements.

πŸ€“ Tip: For a walk through of the process of setting up the most common forms of adjustments, click Wizards, then click Promotion Wizard.

Create or edit an adjustment

To create or edit an adjustment, follow the steps below:

πŸ“Œ Note: Before you start, you need to have already set up your adjustment groups.

  1. Click POS Control, then POS Control.

  2. Click Adjustments.

  3. Select a location if required.

  4. Click either:

    • For a new adjustment, click New.

    • To edit an adjustment, click the three dot menu and select it from the list.

  5. Enter a description. This is what appears on the till receipt.

  6. Set an Apply Method:

    • Don’t auto apply: Use if you're adding the adjustment to the till.

      • Note: If you don't set to auto-apply, you need to add the adjustment to a keyboard button.

    • Auto apply on item: When you add a PLU to a sale that meets the adjustment criteria the adjustment applies.

    • Auto apply at subtotal: This applies when you press the payment page or print bill function.

    • Auto apply on covers entry: This applies when you enter the number of covers for a transaction.

  7. From the Discount Using list, select either:

    • Adjustment Level.
Click Adjustment Reward and select the required reward method and value.

    • Requirement Level.

  8. Click Requirements, then click Add and enter the required details.

  9. Click Save.

  10. Optional configuration:

    • Set an adjustment priority level.

    • Link adjustments with other adjustments for a combined promotion.

    • Set the correct reporting group.

  11. Click Save.

More configuration options

To further customize the adjustment criteria, see the below optional configuration options:

Requirements

Fill out the reward method. The options are all variations of a percentage/fixed, surcharge/discount.

If you're discounting using the adjustment level, you don’t need to set this in the requirements tab.

You can add multiple requirements within this tab to build up more complex adjustments.

Time Restrictions

To prevent the adjustment from being applied at certain times of the day follow the steps below:

  1. Click the Time Restrictions.

  2. Click Add and enter a description.

  3. Select the days for the adjustment to apply.

You can enter a start and finish time and build up multiple time restrictions for the same adjustment.

Note: For the time restriction to be active, you must select Event Enabled. If the adjustment is not to be restricted in this way leave the tab blank.

You may find that you have an open table or tab, that has items that you have a time restriction set up on. If you do not want these items to be discounted when you add additional items to the bill then you will need to complete the following:

  1. Click Flags 3.

  2. Tick Check Items Sold Time for Restriction.

Date Restrictions

If you don't want to apply the adjustment on certain days, for example, Mother's Day, follow the steps below:

  1. Click Date Restrictions.

  2. Set the date to exclude from the adjustment.

  3. Click Save.

Note: You will have to set two date periods that exclude/skip over the date you wish the adjustment to not apply on.

Printer Flags

To amend the print formatting, click the Printer Flags tab, then select the required checkboxes.

Dates

To set the adjustment live for certain days, for example, just apply on Mother's Day, click Dates and set the dates.

If you want the live on all days, leave the dates area blank.

Flags 1-3

To apply specific settings to the way an adjustment operates, click the Flags tabs and select the required checkboxes.
Flags 2 allows you to link and trigger the adjustment on a loyalty scheme.

Seating Areas

To prohibit the adjustments in certain seating areas, use the Seating Areas tabs.

For example, don't apply a restaurant adjustment for people seated at the bar.
