Learn how to prevent specific PLUs or Sales Groups from being included in discount adjustment groups.
When you want to exclude certain products from promotional discounts or price adjustments in EPOS Manager, you can configure specific PLUs (Price Look-Ups) or entire Sales Groups to be excluded from adjustment groups. This ensures that these items maintain their regular pricing even when broader discounts are applied.
β οΈ Important: You need appropriate permissions in IBS Stocklink to modify adjustment groups. Contact your system administrator if you cannot access these settings.
Steps to exclude PLUs from discounts
Log in to EPOS Manager.
Navigate to POS Control, then select POS Control again from the submenu.
Click the Adjustment Group icon to view your adjustment groups.
Open an existing adjustment group from the list that you want to modify.
In the left-hand panel, select the PLU or Sales Group you want to exclude, then click Add to include it in the adjustment group.
With the PLU or Sales Group selected in the adjustment group, click Toggle Exclusion.
Verify that the PLU or Sales Group now displays a minus symbol (-) next to it, indicating it's excluded from the discount.
Click Save to apply your changes.
π Note: If you have multiple adjustment groups where you want to exclude the same items, you'll need to repeat this process for each adjustment group individually.
Understanding exclusions
When a PLU or Sales Group is marked with a minus symbol in an adjustment group, it means:
The item will not receive any discounts applied through that adjustment group
The regular price will be maintained even when the adjustment group is active
Other PLUs in the same adjustment group without the minus symbol will still receive the discount
π€ Tip: Consider creating a dedicated list of items that should never be discounted across your store. This makes it easier to manage exclusions consistently across different promotional periods.
