Find out what's new and what we've fixed in Order Genie for the latest update, covering changes released between 25 May and 5 June 2026.

You can now add order notes to Quick Service orders, just as you already can in Table Service. Notes you enter are carried through to the kitchen.

You can now set a default seating area for Quick Service orders in your venue's EPoS configuration. When set, the seating area is automatically included with each Quick Service order sent to your point-of-sale system.

We've resolved several issues within Order Genie:

Fixed an issue where, if a payment was taken successfully but the order failed to submit to the point-of-sale system, the operator saw only a generic error with no indication that the payment had already been captured. You'll now see a clear message and can retry closing the table or bill without taking payment again, removing the risk of charging the customer twice. This applies to both Quick Service and Table Service.

Fixed an issue where a payment that had been taken successfully could still be reported as failed if a later, non-critical step ran into a problem. Payments that complete successfully are now reported correctly.

This update is applied automatically and was rolled out between 25 May 2026 and 5 June 2026.
