EPOS Manager Version Numbering Update

We're making a small but important change to how we number EPOS Manager versions, starting with our first release in January 2026.

You'll notice that EPOS Manager version numbers will look different. We're adopting Semantic Versioning, an industry-standard format that makes it easier to understand what each update contains.

Old format: 100.000720
New format: 1.720.0

What This Means for You

No action required. Updates will continue to work exactly as they do nowβ€”you'll just see a different version number format.

The new format helps you understand at a glance what type of update you're receiving:

  • First number (1.x.x) - Major changes affecting compatibility

  • Second number (x.720.x) - New features and enhancements

  • Third number (x.x.0) - Bug fixes and patches

With our regular bi-weekly release schedule, you'll typically see the middle number change.

Why We're Making This Change

Semantic versioning is the industry standard used by software companies worldwide. This change brings several benefits:

βœ“ Clearer communication - Version numbers instantly tell you the impact of an update
βœ“ Industry standard - Easier integration with other systems and partners
βœ“ Better transparency - You can see immediately whether an update includes new features or just fixes
βœ“ Simpler version tracking - Easier to compare versions and understand your update history

When Does This Take Effect?

The change will take effect with our first release around 6-7 January 2026.
