To create a new clerk in EPOS Manager, follow the steps below to ensure the correct setup of login credentials, permissions, and operational settings:

📌 Note: This helps maintain secure access and accurate tracking of staff activity.

  1. Click POS Control, then select POS Control again.

  2. Click Clerk, then select New.

  3. Enter the clerk's name under the Description field.

  4. Fill in the relevant information:

    • Description: Usually the clerk’s name.

    • Secret code: A unique code used by the clerk to log in.

    • Security level: Defines what the clerk can access and controls sign-in options.

    • Cash Drawer: Select which drawer the clerk opens.

    • We recommend setting this to Media Control, so the drawer opens when the relevant media is selected.

    • Terminal and POS Location Restrictions: Restrict the clerk to a specific till or location.

    • Job codes and employee ID: Use these with labor scheduling.

    • If you use clocking in/out, create an employee profile and link it to the clerk.

    • You can assign job roles and pay rates to clerks to track employee costs.

    • Mag Card and Dallas Key: These are usually set on the till. Leave them blank unless you know the mag card number.

    • A global flag must be enabled to allow mag card updates from the back office.

  5. Click Save.

Below you will see a series of selection options to configure additional settings:

No Clerk On Display

Hides the name of the clerk on the rear display screen.

Training Clerk

Puts the clerk in training mode. This means sales don't show in StockLink, and a few additional restrictions apply.

Journal On Right

This moves the journal on log-in to the right-hand side of the screen.

Clerk Does Not Open Drawer

Prevents the till drawer from opening.

Disable Clock On

For when you don’t want the clerk to use clocking in or out.

In-use

Disables or enables the login for the clerk.
